Valvoline Global Products Headquarters is located in Lexington, KY. We prefer candidates willing to work in a hybrid capacity (in-office 3x a week).
How You’ll Make an Impact
The Treasury Analyst will be an integral part of Valvoline's North American operations including the positioning of cash, entry of manual payments, execution of payment runs and investment recommendations. The role will post related accounting entries and follow-up on unresolved open items; have primary responsibility for Valvoline’s foreign exchange program including executing trades and understanding the normal foreign currency balances of each legal entity; perform extensive administrative work for Valvoline’s pension including preparation of reports, regulatory reports and ownership of SOX controls; and, post the loan activity for the intercompany loans and the pooling accounts and update documentation. In the role, you would be responsible for:
- Foreign Exchange - Review the daily report of foreign currency balances and evaluate to determine which require a hedge to be executed. Process foreign exchange trades for the balance sheet hedging program and spot trades needed for operational activity in SAP and the foreign exchange portal. Prepare and distribute month-end foreign exchange reports. Develop a familiarity with the foreign currency balances at each legal entity and research any unusual activity. Prepare reports for Accounting and Management of the outstanding derivative positions. Prepare month-end reconciliation activity.
- Daily Cash Management - Monitor North American cash flows daily ensuring that all accounts are adequately funded to prevent overdraft positions, as well as ensuring they will be adequately funded for the following days anticipated activity. Make investment recommendations based on the evaluation of liquidity and counterparty capacity. Make daily accounting entries for cash transfers and investment activity. Process payment runs in SAP and enter payments in the banking portals as appropriate. Follow-up on business inquiries on vendor payments and customer receipts. Process stop payments and positive pay confirmations in the banking system. Execute entries to concentrate cash as required. Work with IT on adding new banks to the cash concentration structure. Provide back-up to the EMEA Analyst.
- Cash Management Accounting - Process journal entries for bank-to-bank transfers and investment activity. Review open items listing daily and research items for resolution and clearing. Prepare the month-end reconciliation of the investment accounts. The Treasury Analyst is expected to be able to resolve most of their open items without assistance from the senior manager.
- Pension Work - Process the invoices for the external pension managers. Work with the Treasurer on the preparation of the materials for the Board of Directors for the Pension update. Prepare the regulatory filings required for the pension (Schedules C & R), Provide reports to Accounting including the Estimated Rate of Return and the Asset Leveling. Review the audited financial statements of all pension assets valued at a NAV and complete required documentation. Primary owner of SOX controls relating to the pension administration and is responsible for communicating with the auditors on the control work. extended/modified.
- Intercompany Loans - Provide operational support for intercompany loan activity. This includes maintaining the contracts in SAP, determining the interest rates using the Bloomberg tool and updating the contracts and monthly spreadsheet with the rate and balance information. Post monthly accruals and reconcile balances. Assist in the preparation of loan documents and monitor existing documents to determine which need to be modified/extended.
- Cash Pooling Loans - Monitor the cash pooling accounts and prepare the month-end interest calculation. Obtain the appropriate rates from Bloomberg and post the journal entries. Prepare the month-end reconciliation of the pooling accounts. Assist in the preparation of loan documents and monitor loan documents for needed extensions/modifications.
- Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline Global from time to time in its sole discretion.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor's degree required - major in accounting, finance or economics preferred
- Minimum of three years of relevant job-related experience in corporate finance, banking, treasury operations experience preferred; but not required
- Demonstrated analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Advanced PC skills to include strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel
- High level of communication skills, both verbal and written
- Highly organized with the ability to perform multiple tasks
- Self-starter with ability to learn quickly
- SAP knowledge is a plus
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
