Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a Staff Controls Engineer. The Staff Controls Engineer is responsible for ensuring plants create the best products possible in the most efficent manner, using/modifying automated controls systems. They are responsible for ensuring all controls equipment are properly maintained and functioning to current safety standards. We whole-heartedly adopt a ‘never idle' mindset. How You’ll Make an Impact

We need a quick learner who can become a subject matter expert in our production environment. In the role, you would be responsible for:

  • Maintain machine safety standards: Lead/Perform Machine Risk Assessments. Ensure machine controls for safety systems meet Sistema Level D category. Review new machine documentation to make sure the equipment exceeds Valvoline safety standards.
  • Support blending and packaging systems of manufacturing plants in North America. Requires demonstrated knowledge of Siemens PCS7, Rockwell ControlLogix, SLC, PLC5, FactoryTalk View, and AutoCAD
  • Support capital projects being led by Process, Packaging, and/or plant engineers that have a controls piece within their project scopes
  • Oversee of 3rd party panel builds for plant upgrades and capital projects, ensuring adherence to corporate standards, NFPA Standards and industry best practices. Requires working knowledge of NEC and NFPA79.
  • Support OT Networks and Cyber Security Intitiatives
  • Develop and maintain 5-year EIC plan for remediating obsolescence in N.A. plants
  • Provide subject matter expertise while assisting third party controls system support across domestic sites.
  • Obtain continuous learning and stay abreast of industry
  • Other duties and responsiblities as determine by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion

What You’ll Need

  • 4 Year College Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Controls/Instrumentation)
  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience in consumer product controls work and project execution.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Knowledge of Siemens PCS7 & Batch/DCS, ProFiBus DP & PA, Profinet, Rockwell PLC's and software, Sistema
  • Knowledge of Safety Controls (Machine safety) and Safety Systems Design & Programming and understanding safety categories

What Will Set You Apart

  • Master's in Engineering or Business Adminstration is a plus
  • Blending controls development experience, OEE data collection implementation and packaging line integration
  • Professional Engineer Licenses
  • Rockwell Automation Product Certification
  • Siemens Product Cerfifications
  • Project Managament Certifications
