Valvoline Global Operations Headquarters is located in Lexington, KY. We prefer local candidates willing to work an in-office work schedule (3 days per week). We are also open to candidates living in nearby markets (i.e. Cincinnati and Louisville), willing to visit HQs as needed.

How You’ll Make an Impact

The Retail Services Express Care Operations Manager reports to the Express Care Program Director and will be responsible for establishing operations expertise in Express Care workshops around the globe to distinguish these workshops from competitive programs and deliver sustainable, profitable growth for both workshop owners and the Valvoline Express Care business. This role defines the global standards for how an Express Care workshop should operate and establishes KPIs for performance. This role develops global processes, procedures, resources, and training needed to deliver operations excellence and sets region teams up to successfully localize and install them within the workshops. The Express Care Operations Sr. Manager collaborates closely with regional Business Advisors to deliver effective, value-add engagements with workshop operators and technicians making Valvoline an indispensable partner. This role must also perform in an ambiguous setting taking on new responsibilities as the business evolves.

In the role, you would be responsible for:

  • Responsible for ensuring all Express Care workshops around the globe operate in accordance with program requirements and brand expectations. Develops standard service and operating procedures and collaborates with region team members to install them as part of every workshop’s operation to ensure consistency and professional customer experience
  • Drives continual operations improvement by proactively creating and implementing new solutions, programs, and processes based on ever-changing needs and behaviors. Builds business cases to gain leadership support, procure resources, and define success.
  • Owns the Point-of-Sale (POS) system for Express Care locations by partnering with vendor to configure the POS for new markets and deploying to workshops. Leads efforts to evolve the POS capabilities to meet the needs of workshop owners and improve customer experience.
  • Develops global operations strategies and implements plans to deliver sustainable sales and profit growth for the Express Care stakeholders (VGO and independent workshop owners) across all operating regions. Defines success by establishing operational KPIs and targets that deliver meaningful impact to the business.
  • Address knowledge and skills gaps of internal and external team members by building and delivering best-in-class, hands-on training programs.
  • Collaborate with Business Advisor team members to set them up for success to effectively engage with workshop operators to manage and grow their businesses.
  • Fosters the transformation to a data-driven culture by establishing effective methods to measure, evaluate, and report on workshop operations and performance. approach to evaluating workshop performance and impact of initiatives on business results by developing a suite of analytical tools, scorecards, and reports. Successfully coach Business Advisors on how to use these resources to help workshop owners build business plans to drive sales and profitability
  • Embody the Valvoline Global Way of working by bringing together cross-functional and cross-regional teams to share best practices and facilitate new thinking
  • Manage budget and expenses tied to operations initiatives.
  • Additional responsibilities as determined by Valvoline to support the growing business, one of them being to co-lead the planning process for the global Express Care program by guiding Regions through appropriate planning cycle milestones, coordinating deliverables, and effectively communicating to leadership

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Business or related field required;
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive retail operations experience required
  • Experience in the automotive services industry is required.
  • Ability to lead by influence and collaborate with teams across the globe
  • Proven track record for developing effective processes and procedures to deliver positive customer experiences
  • Ability to work independently to lead key strategic initiatives
  • Proven ability to implement processes and procedures that deliver against KPIs
  • Experience developing operations strategies & plans to address gaps and capitalize on insights & new opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and solve problems
  • Ability to build relationships remotely, fostering cross-region and cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience leading multiple workstreams with diverse teams to deliver projects on time and on budget
  • Fundamental understanding of business support functions, the type of work they do, and when/how to engage with them on projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound analytical skills used to determine program impact on business and opportunities for improvement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools and SAP
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
