Job Purpose

 

The Supply Planning Lead partners with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Manufacturing, Distribution, Marketing, Sales and Finance) and translates business targets, supply chain strategy and financial objectives into an optimized supply plan that delivers the desired targets for service, inventory and total cost to serve.

 

The Supply Planning Lead is responsible for all supply planning processes, systems and tasks related to materials, capacity, inventory and distribution replenishment, generating a detailed SKU-level supply planning by week over 13-week horizon and a constrained category-level supply planning by month over the 4-24 months horizon.

 

This role has direct responsibility for the final optimized Supply Plan within the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, tracking and improving service, capacity, inventory and cost to serve metrics. As the lead for the Supply Review meeting and the Planning Lead plays a critical role in enabling informed decision-making, identifying risks, opportunities and sustaining S&OP planning standards.

 

How You Make an Impact (Job Accountabilities)

 

Supply Execution (MPS, RCCP, MRP, DRP) & Alignment

  • Translate demand plans into a Master Production Schedule (MPS) to define supply requirements, ensuring customer fulfilment, product availability while minimizing excess/ obsolete stock
  • Perform Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) by collecting capacity availability identifying capacity constraints and developing mitigation actions to ensure product availability (e.g.: prebuild, push-out, re-allocation, capacity increase, etc.)
  • Generate Material Requirement Plan (MRP) and required 3rd party products/ purchased FG for procurement requirement (PR/PO) and define material position strategy to optimize availability and inventory holdings
  • Conduct Distribution Requirement Planning (DRP), execute allocation, replenishment and rebalancing plan across distribution warehouses to ensure product availability, orders fulfilment and cost optimization
  • Coordinate material, capacity and inventory allocation/ transfer during supply constrain scenarios

 

Inventory Management 

  • Analyze inventory profile to establish inventory targets and monitor stocks level to meet service, cash and cost objectives.
  • Partner with Product Line Management (PLM), Sales and Manufacturing to identify slow moving and aging inventory (SMOG) and develop liquidation and removal of SMOG.
  • Synchronize supply planning activities to support Phase in/ Phase out management.

 

Supply Review Process

  • Facilitate the monthly Supply Review process, driving cross-functional alignment on a rolling 24+ month supply plan.
  • Develop the aggregate monthly supply plan ensuring alignment with financial Latest Estimate (LE) and Annual Operating Plans (AOP).
  • Document and review supply assumptions, risks, and opportunities; highlight key changes and monitor actual performance against those assumptions.
  • Execute scenario and “what-if” analysis (capacity, service, inventory and cost considerations) to provide recommendations for meeting business plan targets.
  • Publish the final consensus plan including comprehensive summary of assumptions, opportunities, and risks.to Demand, Supply and Finance teams.

 

Master Data and Planning System

  • Oversee the integrity and quality of the supply planning process, data and tool.
  • Maintain and periodically update ERP master data, settings, parameters and profiles within planning system/ tools.

 

Supply Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Track supply planning KPIs (Schedule Adherence, Service, Capacity, Inventory, SMOG, Cost to serve).
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify planning inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
  • Serve as the process lead for supply planning, continuously improving process effectiveness, governance, and performance.
  • Generate KPIS reports leverage data analysis to provide in-depth analysis of supply chain performance,

 

What You Bring to the Role (Job Qualifications / Education / Skills / Requirements / Capabilities)

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or other quantitative field required. APICS certification preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Operations/ Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related functions with emphasis on manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with planning tools and systems strongly preferred.

 

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of supply planning (lead time, MOQ/ MBQ, safety stock, scheduling, service level, etc. ) is required.
  • Proficiency in supply planning process RCCP, MPS, MRP, DRP and inventory modeling.
  • Experience with ERP (SAP), supply planning, or advanced planning systems (APO/ OMP).
  • Fundamental knowledge of Sales & Operations Planing (S&OP) or IBP is required.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Table, lookups etc.)
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Power BI, SQL).

  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Excellent facilitation skills for leading structured review meetings.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

  • Primarily office-based or hybrid corporate environment.

  • Occasional travel (estimated 5–15%) for cross-functional meetings, planning sessions, or business reviews.
  • Minimal physical demands; ability to sit for extended periods and operate standard office equipment.
