How You’ll Make an Impact

The Director of Supply Chain, ANZ is responsible for leading, directing and managing the supply chain to maximize the revenue and profitability of the brand and core products, to achieve agreed service levels and to operate at cost effective levels. In addition, they are required to provide leadership, direction and support to managers and staff; and to ensure all agreed cost and service levels are reached and maintained.

 

Within this context, the Director of Supply Chain, ANZ is inclusive of Manufacturing, Logistics and Warehousing, contributing to the strategic intent by working with key stakeholders to develop ad implement relevant products and services in line with corporate objectives and business requirements.

 

The incumbent is also responsible for the provision of support to the Managing director on issues such as policy and procedure development, service delivery and performance, business growth and the development of new and/or enhanced capabilities.

 

The Director of Supply Chain leads the team by coaching, mentoring and developing staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding, providing performance management feedback through goal setting, career development, training, employee recognition and disciplinary action (with the assistance of Human Resources where necessary).

  

 

Responsibilities Include

 

1. Effective Leadership

 

  • Provide effective leadership to the Supply Chain team by providing clear strategy and guidelines that always focus on the best utilization of resources and achievement of business efficiencies
  • Prioritizing activities across the Supply Chain to improve efficiency and effectiveness of activities, projects, and issues to focus upon
  • Adding value to the whole of the organization in participation of resource allocation and decisions affecting the operations of the business
  • Developing, monitoring, and optimizing the performance of staff by utilizing performance management tools and techniques to ensure performance targets are achieved, managers are recognized and rewarded and provided with ongoing development

 

2. Process Management

 

  • Continually review and consider improvements in the process for delivering customer service and the achievement of an enduring customer relationship
  • Ongoing management and analysis of processes with a view to identifying improvements and streamlining service delivery, including promotion of continuous improvement, and responding to recommendations from staff on process changes

 

3. Oversee the purchase and leasing of equipment and buildings for the whole Supply Chain

 

4. Safety, Environmental and CoR compliance across the whole Supply Chain

 

5. Develop and Distribute Procedures 

 

6. Financial Performance

 

  • Assist with achieving set financial targets for revenue, profitability and manage costs within budget by conducting sound and timely budget management in alignment with business plans 
  • Active and vigorous participation to achieve the corporate strategy and goals
  • Management team delivers on agreed strategy and implementation plan, and their performance meets agreed standards
  • Ensure operational staff engagement and empowerment of business unit direction, inclusive of strategies and their implementation
  • Deliver or exceed the financial targets set for revenue and manage within allocated expenditure and contributes to the profitability of the business unit
  • Ensure Supply Chain projects are delivered on time and within budget parameters

 

7. Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion

 

Primary Interactions - Internal and External

 

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
  • Communicate key business information and strategic change initiatives to internal and external customers and staff.

 

What You’ll Need

 

  • Relevant University or TAFE Education preferably in Manufacturing/Operations Management
  • Relevant Industry Certifications
  • Minimum of 10 years Management experience
  • Minimum of 10 years Logistics/Manufacturing experience
  • Experience in Purchasing, Planning, EHS and ISO environments
  • Forklift and High Hazard licenses
  • Travel upto 20% is required for this role
