Job Purpose
The Valvoline integration development team is responsible for establishing and maintaining communication between computer applications, both internal to Valvoline and with external business partners. The integration developer senior will be responsible for leading the development of integration solutions using Valvoline’s integration toolsets, webMethods, SAP Integration Suite and Mulesoft AnyPoint. The integration developer senior will continue to design and develop integrations while also assigning development tasks to junior team members, provide technical oversight and leadership on integration projects, mentor junior developers, lead code reviews and manage day-to-day coordination of internal IT, business partners, managed service provider(s) and other 3rd party vendor activities as it relates to delivering integration solutions.
How You Make an Impact (Job Accountabilities)
- Design, develop and maintain integration services for Valvoline’s business applications and external partner’s integrations. Lead reviews of junior developers integration designs and coding. Ensure developers are using common integration patterns where applicable. Enforce the practice of creating and maintaining documentation on the integrations within the tools specified for the team.
- Ensure daily operations remain stable by maintaining support processes and providing day-to-day technical support for the integration services and associated services by working directly with users to research, troubleshoot and resolve issues in accordance with service level agreements and operational level agreements. This may require interaction with other internal IT teams, managed service providers and other vendors/3rd party partners. Provide proper communication to all stakeholders for scheduled and unscheduled activities that will or might impact integrations.
- Provide daily technical oversight and leadership to the team of integration developers. Allocate routine and prioritized tasks and/or project work. Provide direction, support and guidance as necessary, in line with individuals’ skills and abilities. Assist with the hiring, onboarding, training and mentoring of these resources.
- Manage a rotational support plan to ensure fair allocation of monitoring support duties among the team members.
- Schedule and lead regular team meetings to discuss project status, support issues and daily work activities.
- Lead design and code reviews for all integration development projects.
Internal Partners: The Integration developer works closely with Valvoline business from several different process areas such as OTC, STP, PTD, FI and HR. They also work closely with Valvoline and MSP Infrastructure teams in Network, Security, Storage Management, Server Management and Database Management and with other IT development and support teams.
External Partners: The Integration developer works closely with Valvoline’s business partners (customers, suppliers, banks, logistics providers and service providers) technical teams to create, test, implement and maintain EDI/B2B and cloud integrations. Some interaction with non-technical business partners is required.
What You Bring to the Role (Job Qualifications / Education / Skills / Requirements / Capabilities)
BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field of study
5-10 years of experience working with following:
- Software AG’s webMethods, Mulesoft Anypoint or SAP Integration Suite
- Integration with ERP systems
- Document exchange protocols such as AS2, SFTP, https, ftp
- Publishing and subscribing messages to queues and topics in a messaging provider
- Service Oriented Architecture and Web Services
- ANSI X12 and EDIFACT EDI standards
- XML based standards such as CIDX, xCBL or OAIGs
- Cloud Integration
- API development
- API Management
Competencies Desired
Experience with Integration development tools including:
- Mulesoft Anypoint, SAP Integration Suite, webMethods
- Strong knowledge of integration patterns, web services (SOAP, REST), and event driven architecture.
- Building and supporting integrations with SAP S4 Hana and SAP ECC.
- Agile development methodologies.
- Experience implementing connections to various data sources by leveraging protocols such as JDBC, HTTPS, LDAP, JMS, SFTP, FTPS, EDIINT AS2, ODATA, etc.
- ANSI X12 and EDIFACT EDI standards
- Integration with SAP and knowledge of SAP IDOCs
- Relational Databases and SQL
- Problem-solving & organizational skills
- The ability to communicate with both business (non-technical) and technical persons
