The Sr. Accountant is responsible for overseeing and review the daily operations of the accounting department, Reporting and AP. This role includes ensuring the accuracy of financial records and coordinating activities to maintain effective internal controls and compliance with financial regulations, tax preparations/reporting and assisting both tax/financial audit and internal controls audit.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Capital Expense
    • Manage and track the capital expense budget, ensuring accurate allocation and monitoring of expenditures. Oversee the depreciation process on a monthly and yearly basis, ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards. Collaborate with different departments to review and forecast capital expenditures, maintaining alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
  • Accounts Payable
    • Create and follow up purchase orders, timely tracking of purchase and invoice payments, monitor suppliers and advise various areas of the company on accounts payable processes, follow up on administrative and recurring suppliers.
  • Financial / Accounting
    • Supervise and manage financial and accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial statements. Oversee the general ledger, account reconciliations, and month-end closing processes. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements while providing guidance to the accounting team. Support financial analysis activities to align with organizational objectives., Support the financial / tax audit perform by PwC, attend and review the Tax Report obligation (SIPRED), perform the detail integration of the annexes required in the tax Report.
  • Internal Control
    • Conduct and oversee internal control reviews to ensure compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. Identify potential risks, evaluate the effectiveness of control processes, and recommend improvements. Collaborate with various departments to implement corrective actions and strengthen internal controls, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting
  • Internal Contacts – Various levels of Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Accounting, Treasury and Finance
  • External Contacts – Local and federal authorities, Audit and Tax Firms, Vendors, Customers

 

What You’ll Need

  • This role will be based out of Guadalajara, Mexico.

 

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 7 year of work experience in accounting, audit and/or taxes
  • Proven work experience in an International Co.
  • Proficient in generating and submitting SIPRED reports (Sistema de Presentación del Dictamen) for statutory audits, including the analysis and reconciliation of financial data to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with internal audit
  • Experience working with audit and tax firms

  • Knowledge of MEXGAAP
  • Knowledge of USGAAP desirable IFRS
  • Knowledge in SOX or COSO
  • Knowledge of the Mexican taxation system
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
