How You’ll Make an Impact


The IT Release Manager is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and managing the release of software applications and IT services across various teams within the organization. This role ensures that new features, patches, or enhancements are delivered on time and meet the required quality standards, minimizing any disruption to ongoing business operations.

 

The Release Manager collaborates with various stakeholders, including developers, QA teams, IT operations, and business units, to ensure the seamless integration and deployment of new solutions. They must balance technical proficiency with a deep understanding of business needs to ensure successful release cycles. Applies knowledge in system configuration, integration testing and day-to-day support following the established change and release management processes.

 

Coordinates with IT colleagues on continuous improvement or cross-functional teams.


Responsibilities Include

 

Release Planning & Coordination:
•    Develop and maintain detailed release schedules for projects, coordinating across multiple teams.
•    Identify potential risks, issues, and bottlenecks related to release timelines, and proactively address them to mitigate impact.
•    Manage dependencies and resources to align with project timelines and business priorities.

Assist business partners with auditing activities by providing data, reports, or other information to satisfy auditor requests    

 

Stakeholder Communication:
•    Serve as the primary point of contact for release-related matters, communicating effectively with developers, QA teams, IT operations, and business stakeholders.
•    Provide timely updates to senior leadership on release progress, including potential risks and mitigation strategies.   

 

Governance & Best Practices:
•    Establish and enforce best practices, processes, and governance frameworks around the release cycle, ensuring consistency and repeatability.
•    Ensure that all changes meet quality and compliance requirements before going live.   

 

Risk Management & Issue Resolution:
•    Identify potential risks within the release process and implement plans to mitigate or resolve issues.
•    Facilitate post-release reviews to capture lessons learned and incorporate continuous improvement into future releases.   

 

Change Management:
•    Lead the change management process, ensuring smooth transitions between development, testing, and production environments.
•    Oversee the documentation of all changes, configurations, and deployments, ensuring transparency and audit readiness.   

 

Collaboration with Development and IT Operations:
•    Work closely with Development, DevOps, and IT Operations teams to ensure proper handoff of code and services, including deployment automation and rollbacks if necessary.
•    Coordinate with QA teams to ensure all releases meet performance, security, and functionality standards.  


What You’ll Need

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, Agile, or DevOps certifications) is a plus.

- 8+ years of experience required

 

What Will Set You Apart
•    Overall 15+ Years of business and IT experience
•    Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT release management, project management, or a related field.
•    Proven track record of managing complex software releases in a fast-paced environment.
•    Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and release automation tools.
•    Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
•    Familiarity with IT infrastructure, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, Kubernetes).
•    Strong understanding of IT operations, including database management, server maintenance, and network configurations.
•    Experience configuring multiple SAP modules OR experience across multiple industries such as Food, Chemicals, Life Sciences, Pharma, Oil & Gas etc.
•    Experience in multiple, full lifecycle SAP implementations
