How You’ll Make an Impact
The Regional Training Manager for APAC leads and is responsible for the regional implementation, localization, and delivery of the training curriculum. This team is a “Center of Excellence” in that it provides governance, best practices, and subject matter expertise on the deployment and usage of sales training to improve our go-to-market efficiency and experiential interaction with our customers. This role identifies and monitors sales training needs in APAC and designs, plans, and implements programs to fulfill those needs—including sales process methodologies (e.g., Richardson and Beisen), sales and marketing tools, and product certification.
The Learning Architect aspect involves managing the creation and localization of digital training content, including translation and regional tailoring. The role will also lead the implementation of a Learning Management System (LMS 2.0) for APAC, establish governance models, and serve as a liaison between users, internal teams, and regional training leads.
Major efforts include driving internal sales onboarding, ongoing support, eLearning, and distributor certification—ensuring all initiatives are aligned to regional business needs. This role is also responsible for managing vendor relationships and contracts related to content design, training delivery, and systems.
Responsibilities Include
1. Provide oversight, direction, and overall support for the design and development of learning solutions within the region:

Create and manage the delivery of product training, classroom training, and sales training, ensuring a consistent, blended learning approach.

Manage the creation, maintenance, tailoring, and translation of engaging and effective training content, considering various learning formats, methodologies, and audience needs (through internal development tools or external vendors).

Continuously review and recommend enhancements or modifications to existing training programs to improve engagement, learning outcomes, and retention, while adapting to the evolving needs of customers and the organization.

Ensure all training materials and programs are current, accurate, and aligned with business goals.

Collaborate closely with regional training managers across the enterprise to share content, align strategies, and coordinate future initiatives.
- Manage the budget for learning and development initiatives, ensuring cost-effective solutions while demonstrating financial acumen in balancing budget constraints with impactful learning outcomes.
2. Manage regional vendor relationships and projects:

Oversee regional vendor relationships, ensuring proper management of Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), project timelines, and review/sign-off processes.

Maintain Learning Management Systems (LMS 2.0) to effectively organize, store, and manage training materials efficiently.

Stay updated on emerging technologies and integrate them into the learning environment to enhance training effectiveness.

Develop and enforce governance policies, including processes and naming conventions for content storage to ensure consistency and efficient use of the LMS by the broader training team.
3. Connect with local commercial teams within each region to drive innovation and efficiency in training solutions. Stay abreast of regional industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance sales training capabilities. Collaborate with key stakeholders and leadership to align business needs with the adoption and implementation of training initiatives.
4. Monitor and analyze product performance & adoption metrics, identifying areas for optimization, increased usage, and growth. Establish metrics to gauge the success of training programs (ROI); implement continuous improvement measures based on evaluation outcomes. 5. Develop and maintain a regional training catalog, budget plans, and project timelines, ensuring regular communication of updates and progress to internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and implement training solutions that support the organization’s strategic goals.
6. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the organization, including personal career growth, self-improvement, and ongoing training.
7. Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.
Primary Interactions - Internal and External
This role collaborates with regional leaders from business units and digital teams, including regular interactions with IT leadership. Key interactions include, but are not limited to:
Internal: Regular contact with direct and indirect sellers, Marketing, Product & Strategy, Technical, Identity and Access Management, Global Brand Equity, and Digital teams.
External: Channel partners, customers, vendors, and content providers.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree would be a plus

5+ years of experience in sales and sales training across APAC
-
2+ years of experience in leading teams
-
Experience in delivering & design adult learning theory and principles in small and large groups
-
Experience in project management and communications skills of effectively manage multiple projects with tight deadlines and driving alignment & execution across groups

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
-
Working knowledge of SAP and Salesforce.com
- International travel upto 25% is expected in this role
- Ability to read, write, and speak Mandarin professionally; This is required for collaboration with the China team, vendors, and senior stakeholders
