Job Purpose
The Social Media Associate supports Valvoline™ Global Operations’ social media presence by executing day-to-day content publishing, community engagement, and performance monitoring. Working closely with the Global Social Media Manager, this role helps maintain brand consistency, strengthen community connections, and deliver compelling online experiences across global platforms. The Social Media Associate will be hands-on in content scheduling, community responses, and analytics tracking—ensuring that Valvoline’s social presence is active, engaging, and aligned with global brand standards.
How You Make an Impact (Job Accountabilities)
1. Content Execution & Scheduling
a. Publish approved content across Valvoline-owned social channels (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, WeChat, Weibo) according to the global content calendar.
b. Ensure captions, hashtags, and creative assets are uploaded accurately and on time.
2. Community Engagement
a. Monitor and respond to community interactions, comments, and direct messages within established SLAs.
3. Track/flag positive or negative trends, including escalation of potential issues, risks, or sensitive comments to the Global Social Media Manager and relevant stakeholdersPlatform Monitoring & Insights
a. Use Sprout Social (and other relevant tools) to track engagement, follower growth, and post-performance.
b. Assist in compiling weekly and monthly performance reports with key highlights and actionable recommendations
4. Collaboration & Coordination
a. Partner with global and regional marketing teams, agency partners, and other internal stakeholders to ensure smooth content rollout.
b. Support localization of global content to suit APAC market nuances while maintaining brand integrity.
5. Brand Governance
a. Ensure all published content meets Valvoline’s brand, tone, and compliance standards.
b. Help maintain the social media community management playbook and contribute to updates when needed.
What You Bring to the Role (Job Qualifications / Education / Skills / Requirements / Capabilities)
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in social media marketing, preferably in a corporate or agency setting.
• Proficiency in social media management tools (Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or similar).
• Strong writing, editing, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Basic understanding of social media analytics and reporting.
• High attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with APAC social trends and platforms is a plus (e.g., WeChat, Weibo, TikTok).
