Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a Regional Business Development Manager, Cummins Global reporting directly to the Senior Director, Cummins Global Growth. This is a hybrid opportunity, 2 days remote per week.
VGO Global Growth team is responsible of enabling long term profitable growth for the company both organically and inorganically, through the enablement of best practices, global frameworks and tools that have a positive impact in the regional businesses, as well as the identification, incubation, nurturing and capture of new and incremental business opportunities to expand VGOs business, penetration and market share.
Reporting to the global leader for our business and partnership with Cummins, the regional business development manager will lead the regional implementation of the Cummins global growth strategy. With flawless business development and strategy execution skills, the regional manager will enable the local VGO affiliates and business partners to double our global volume and market share profitably with Cummins in the next 7 years, while strengthening business relationships with Cummins at the regional level.
The regional BD manager is responsible for fully understanding the local market dynamics and customer structure, stakeholders, challenges and opportunities towards best aligning our resources and plans to the global strategy and ensuring local meaning and application.
This role will lead and coordinate multifunctional teams and in partnership with VGO’s regional teams, will drive consistent and flawless execution of the right strategies and tactics per location to maximize Premium Blue sales and lubricant volumes sold through Cummins direct and indirect channels in the region.
How You’ll Make An Impact

Cummins Regional strategy execution – Lead successful execution of regional Cummins 2030 LRP towards realizing the overall 2X vision by 2030. Will use the resources at disposal to maximize impact and effectiveness while ensuring full alignment with key stakeholders at VGO and CMI. Will develop, adjust and implement the right regional plans and tactics to adapt to evolving environment while meeting sales and financial targets and supporting the long-term goals achievement.

Develop and lead execution of successful, customer-centric and scalable business development initiatives based on a thorough understanding of the market and segment, ensuring the right channel capabilities and readiness, product portfolio differentiation and positioning, as well as the right capabilities to deliver a winning value proposition to the market in a reliable and consistent fashion.

Develop deep, trusting and result-driven relationships at CMI regional level spanning from directors to individual sellers and contributors at the commercial and operational organizations to gain influence and partnership.

Stay abreast of the market dynamics and customer behaviors to driving effective operational decision making tied to annual operating plans and leading a disciplined regional performance tracking and oversight through leading customer specific meetings including (i) business performance reviews, (ii) operational customer reviews, and (iii) VGO internal cross-functional and cross-regional connects.

Ensure cross-functional regional alignment to enable VGO to successfully deliver on the business development and strategic plans and initiatives including PLM, pricing, training, selling proposition, market research, R&D development.

Be an active leader part of the Global Cummins Growth team and collaborate towards the expansion of our business and achievement of the overall 2X vision.

What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management or alike with MBA as a plus.
- Automotive After-market and heavy-duty lubricants market required, 10+ years in HD sales through distributors and/or direct channels.
- Large account management experience required, and 5+ years in business development roles.
- Experience working with all levels of an organization but especially working with mid-level partners in the commercial teams of the company and the customer.
- In this role there is an expectancy of 50% travel
