How You’ll Make an Impact

The Project Manager is a professional in the field of project leadership who is the authorized representative for the purpose of supervising large capital project execution. The Project Manager is responsible for implementation of the Project. The project objective is to achieve desired outcomes for financial performance, reliable operations, scope compliance, project KPI’s and on time project delivery.

 

Responsibilities Include

The project manager has direct responsibility for:

  •  Supporting the regional teams in P2 scope and cost estimate development in order to provide best long-term value within approved project scope. Business teams include:
  • Manufacturing plant project team
  • Corporate process project team – EHS, quality, technical, risk management, building services, and others
  • Insure that Project venture Summaries with DCF are prepared to facilitate gate approvals in a timely manner.
  • Implementing the approved project scope utilizing the Project Work Process, including established work practices and templates.
  • Lead the development and facility the presentation of the Design reviews (DR 1-4)
  • Organize and manage an integrated project team that includes resources for process engineering, accounting, receiving, engineering, procurement, construction, start up, plant support and technical support.
  • Oversee the application of Design for Reliability and long-term asset care.
  • Oversee the application of risk assessments, and other appropriate safety and compliance initiatives.
  • Oversee the implementation of engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up activities.
  • Establish and implement project processes, procedures, and communications.
  • Establish and oversee project controls including, cost, scope, time, and resources.
  • Provide timely financial reporting and analysis of project progress.
  • Prepare and publish weekly and monthly progress reports. Conduct project review meetings, as necessary.
  • Conduct interactive project planning review meetings, as necessary with all key stakeholders.
  • Ensure that project activities comply with all applicable compliance requirements, codes, standards, and laws.
  • Ensure that the project schedule is integrated with permitting efforts
  • Implement and manage an onsite behavioral based project safety program consistent with VVV requirements. Manage and report safety performance based on leading and lagging indicators.

  • Oversee the work deliverables of all project team members internal and external to VVV resources.

  • Collaborate with Indirect Procurement resources on the development and issuance of Request for Proposal packages.

  • Collaborate with Indirect Procurement and Legal on review of supplier proposals, terms, and conditions.

  • 70% of work environment will be office based, including on site (plant) offices, and 30% will be on the plant site with the equipment and live operation.

  • Engineer will have financial responsibility to manage project spends from up to 20(+) M in a fiscal year.

 

 

What You’ll Need

  • 4 Year College Degree in Engineering (Civil, Chemical, Process, or Mechanical.
  • 8 to 12 years’ experience in heavy industrial/process work and project execution. Along with experience in process commercialization from ideation to operational turnover focused on process flow, liquid transfer, and packaging.
  • Knowledge of: Process integration, Project management, Blending/packaging equipment mechanical and controls knowledge, Field implementation knowledge, Auto-cad, SAP, MS programs including MS Project, Civil/Structural, mechanical, and electrical/controls knowledge.
  • Demonstrate consistent leadership in compliance with VVV Principles

  • Apply consistent economic and business thinking in all decisions

  • Accurately forecast project cost, schedule, and resources within a 10% variance

  • Ensure that safety is a value shared by the team (including our vendors and contractors) and that the workplace maintains an injury free environment.

  • Integrate value improvement practices (VIP’s) into the project implementation

  • Ensure project outcomes support long term business goals and supports asset care strategies.

  • Protect business intellectual property.

  • Stay up-to-date on industry standards and best practices.

  • Demonstrate consistent leadership toward the pursuit of continuous improvement of operations quality, safety, and productivity.

  • Ensure the business operations remain legally compliant with respect to occupational safety, environmental compliance, electrical safety, and fire protection.
