Job Purpose
This role is a strategic and commercially astute FP&A leader to drive financial planning and Performance management in China.
He/she will be responsible for delivering Business Finance support to VGO China, which include the assurance of an appropriate business control framework, business analysis and decision support.
We need someone who understand deeply on the data, and able to translate them into actional business insight to challenge and support business, prepare compelling executive summary backed by data, and able to communicate with concise business language to leadership team.
How You Make an Impact (Job Accountabilities)
A. Business analysis, Performance mgmt. and LE (short term/monthly) 35%
- Lead analysis of financial and operational results to better understand segment performance including sales & margin (volume, price, cost, FX, and mix), expenses (direct and indirect), and trade working capital to identify risks and opportunities.
- Synthesize P&L performance into compelling executive summaries, communicate performance and results across the segment, including senior management and identify/explain key factors to variances.
- Coordinate consistent, fit for purpose and timely LE of Business Units.
- Partner with business leaders and HR in development of SIP structure and metrics. Responsible for the ongoing monitoring of performance to target and integrity of the financial results.
- Analyze complex financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Translate data into actionable business insights for regional leaders.
- Challenge and support local Sales, Marketing and Operation team to improve financial performance from volume, profitability and cash generation perspective.
B. Business controls and Process enhancement(routine/daily) 20%
- As key leader in S&OP process, proactively work with project team in China and APAC to ensure quality delivery of IR and assist MBR preparation, able to leverage output from DR/SR to drive productive engagement of key stakeholders in IR.
- Bridge between Accounting and Operation/Commercial, assist Risk and compliance management in business operation (credit, margin, contract review etc).
- Drive efficiency of FP&A team and provide meaningful insight to add value to business.
- Work with accounting and tax to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal-control requirements.
- Support Internal audit on key business process and risk areas.
C. Business decision support (medium term/ad hoc) 20%
- Develop comprehensive business cases by conducting analysis using internal and external data, and examining trends, issues, and opportunities by mining data sets for insights, analyzing customers, territory performance and practices through break-even analysis, margin analysis, and pro forma forecasting.
- Support bidding and other preparation for opportunity realization
- Post reviews for material projects/initiatives in collaboration with the business and COE.
- Work with commercial team and COE on pricing and marketing exp mgmt and control.
D. Strategy & Planning (long term/annual cycle) 15%
- Work with Business leaders and Finance Director to build annual budgets and key performance targets , ensure business ownership and alignment with China strategy, build up robust targets to meet operating plan requirements.
- Provide detailed analysis and/or commentary on various areas of business to include reviewing operations and recommending new revenue, productivity, or cost savings initiatives.
E. Other project and assignments 10%
- Lead or participate in cross-functional initiatives that involve changes to existing processes and driver profitability/cash.
What You Bring to the Role (Job Qualifications / Education / Skills / Requirements / Capabilities)
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics, CPA/MBA/CMA/CFA preferred.
- 8+ years’ experience in FP&A or Business Finance within a multinational corporation, prefer experience related to consumer sales, with certain complexity of pricing, sales promotion, and channel management.
- Proficient hands-on experience with office software and ERP system, as well as economic models.
- BI and Python skills are highly preferred.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.

- Strong inter-personal skills and ability to collaborate with different function teams, use data and insights to challenge and support business and operation team for continuous improvement on financial performance.
- Self-driven, stay positive and committed, desire to continually learn and develop for individual and lead/coach the FP&A team.
- Hands on expertise and can-do spirit when facing challenge.
