How You’ll Make an Impact

We are seeking a skilled SAP SAC Planning Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing SAP Analytics Cloud Planning solutions, enabling advanced analytics and streamlined planning processes. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, translate them into technical requirements, and deliver robust and scalable planning solutions.

Responsible for leading and supporting projects related to production support, enhancement of processes, integration of new business practices or acquisitions in SAC Planning. Provides application support and training of end users while maintaining ITIL service levels. Cooperates with consultants from other modules such as /FI/CO/HR. Provides technical support in the analysis, documentation and configuration of break/fix issues. Applies knowledge in system configuration, integration testing and day-to-day support following the established change and release management processes. Provides effort estimates for break/fix, system enhancements and any new functionality.  Assists with the development, configuration and testing of new functionality as requested by the business.  Coordinates with IT colleagues on continuous improvement or cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities Include

1.    Provides support within area of responsibility for:
a.    Business partners in day-to-day process / system issues through Service Desk tickets.
b.    Education needs of business partners for:
i.    New or problematic areas of system/process
ii.    Master data
iii.    Report execution
c.    After hours and on call jobs
d.    Coordinate with third parties to apply upgrades, changes, data updates to ensure that system components are fully compliant.

e.    Assist business partners with auditing activities by providing data, reports, or other information to satisfy auditor requests

2.    Works with business partners on small enhancement or larger projects to resolve process issues or meet new business requirements while maintaining an SAP best practice approach to reduce custom code.  You should be able to lead the design, configuration, deployment of SAP Analytics Cloud Planning solutions.
•    Document business requirements
•    Perform analysis and functional and/or technical design and estimate solution for implementation while coordinating with technical / development resources.
•    Charter project and send through governance to obtain project resources and establish timing
•    Develop and implement models, stories, and planning scenarios to support financial, operational, and strategic planning processes.
•    Customize SAC functionalities to align with business needs, including data integration and process automation.
•    Work with SAP BW, S/4HANA, or other ERP systems to ensure seamless data integration.
•    Build and maintain data models, hierarchies, and relationships for optimal SAC performance.
•    Ensure data accuracy and security within the SAC environment.
•    Develop and deliver training materials to end-users for effective adoption of SAC Planning solutions.
•    Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for SAC Planning functionalities.

4.    Stakeholder Engagement
•    Collaborate with finance, operations, and IT teams to gather requirements and deliver tailored SAC Planning solutions.
•    Provide expert guidance to stakeholders on SAC capabilities and best practices for planning and analytics.
•    Maintain relationship with key business partner stakeholders

5.    Acts as a project manager for projects in their area of responsibility. This will include managing a project team of internal resources or consultants to deliver a final solution to business partners based on their requirements. It will also involve supporting the business partner leads on the project as well.

6.    Works with IT colleagues to ensure best practices are followed for security, compliance, change management and release management. Collaborates internally with other team members on continuous improvement and/or on cross-functional teams. May coach junior team members.

7.    Continuous Improvement.  Stay updated on SAP SAC Planning advancements, trends, new features.  Identify opportunities to enhance planning processes and analytics capabilities within the organization.

8.    Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.
 

What You’ll Need

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science, information management, or a related field. 

8+ years of experience required

Preferred:
•    Overall 15+ Years of business and IT experience
•    7 years of SAP years of experience with SAP Analytics Cloud, focusing on Planning functionalities. ( SAP Planning and BPC)
•    5 -10 years integration experience with other process areas
•    4+ years leadership experience on SAP implementation projects
•    Proven track record in implementing end-to-end SAC Planning solutions.
•    Experience in multiple, full lifecycle SAP implementations
•    SAP Certification in SAC Planning.
•    Experience with SAC Predictive Analytics and Machine Learning capabilities.
•    Knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies.

•    Expertise in SAP Analytics Cloud Planning, including model design, planning functions, and story building.
•    Proficient in integrating SAC with SAP BW, S/4HANA, or other data sources.
•    Strong understanding of financial and operational planning processes.
•    Familiarity with advanced SAC features, such as predictive analytics and forecasting.
Soft Skills
•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
•    Collaborative mindset, with experience working in cross-functional teams
Ability to:
•    Design/build/test across the lifecycle of SAP Project for configuration and working with development team on specs and testing.
•    Interface with key stakeholders - must be very strong with client facing with challenging personalities
•    Train users in master data management, new business processes, transactional activity, and report execution.
•    Support end users during hyper care immediately after go-live for the new SAP Production Planning solution; and
•    Collaborate internally with other team members on continuous improvement. Interact effectively with offshore team members
•    Act as project manager for smaller Planning/Finance projects.
•    Maintain SAP best practice solution approach to reduce custom code
