Job Purpose

The Senior Demand Planner goes beyond traditional forecasting. In this pivotal role, will be the critical link between our key customers' point-of-sale data and our internal supply chain execution. It will not only own the demand plan for your assigned portfolio but will also actively engage with key account customers to understand their unique sell-out dynamics, collaborate on building tailored inventory and replenishment strategies, and ensure our sales orders are a true reflection of a shared, actionable plan. Its work will directly drive commercial success, optimize inventory investment, and strengthen our customer partnerships.

Role Objectives

  • Core Demand Planning & Forecasting
  • Develop and maintain an unbiased, statistically driven baseline forecast for assigned product categories/customers, incorporating historical data, trends, seasonality, and lifecycle status.  
  • Lead the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) demand review process, presenting forecasts, assumptions, and risks to cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Planning).
  • Integrate commercial intelligence, promotion plans, new product introductions, and marketing events into the consensus demand plan.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and bias; conduct root cause analysis on variances and implement continuous improvement actions.
  • Keep all data updated in OMP

Customer Collaboration & Sell-Out Analysis

  • Proactively engage with key account managers and, directly or indirectly, with customer replenishment/planning teams.
  • Analyze customer-specific Point-of-Sale (POS)/sell-out data, inventory levels, and weeks of supply to understand true consumption patterns.
  • Build collaborative inventory and replenishment strategies for key accounts to optimize their in-stock levels while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory for both parties.
  • Translate customer plans, promotions, and events into a precise and aligned demand signal for our operations.
  • Serve as the primary planning contact for critical customer discussions, bridging the gap between commercial agreements and operational reality.

Sales Order Management & Integration

  • Ensure the demand plan is accurately reflected in sales orders and purchase orders from customers. Investigate and reconcile significant discrepancies.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Customer Service teams to validate large or non-standard orders against the collaborative plan.
  • Provide input on order feasibility and timing based on capacity and inventory constraints from the supply planning team.
  • Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to forecast accuracy (at both the shipped and sold-through level), customer in-stock rates, and inventory health.

Projects & Portfolio

  • Supports implementation of different tools, especially from the OMP area, and is included into all relevant projects.
  • Supports portfolio reviews with PLM.

 

Stakeholder Management & Relations

Role needs to establish relationship with key roles whether through the operational teams or through other process owners:

  • Key Account Customers
  • Commercial (sales and marketing)
  • Finances
  • Supply chain (production, logistics, order management, quality management)
  • Product development and costing
  • Other process owners (procurement, portfolio planning, order management, etc.)

How you make an impact

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or similar technical discipline.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience as a Demand planner, it is preferred that partially from lubricants or automotive aftermarket business.

Knowledge, skills & competencies

  • Advanced Excel and Power BI knowledge is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to support decision making.
  • Good presentation & data visualization skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills enabling efficient executive communication allowing for effectively working with cross -functional stakeholders and multicultural teams
  • Demonstrated proficiency in forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
  • Good understanding of S&OP processes in an international business environment, including demand & supply planning processes.
  • Solid knowledge in SAP.
  • Experience in OMP OPR is an advantage.
  • Fluent English - spoken and written.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Proactive with positive, constructive attitude.
