Job Purpose

The Batch Job Manager is responsible for monitoring, managing, and troubleshooting scheduled batch jobs to ensure critical business processes complete accurately, on time, and with minimal disruption. This role supports business continuity by helping prevent failed or delayed jobs that can impact reporting, finance, supply chain, integrations, and other downstream operations.

 

How You Make an Impact (Job Accountabilities)

  • Monitor scheduled batch jobs, interfaces, and workload automation processes to confirm successful and timely completion.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve batch job failures, delays, dependency issues, data errors, and system-related interruptions.
  • Coordinate with application, infrastructure, database, business, and vendor teams to resolve production issues and minimize business impact.
  • Execute approved job reruns, restarts, holds, releases, and recovery steps in accordance with operational procedures and change controls.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of job schedules, dependencies, escalation paths, runbooks, recovery procedures, and incident outcomes.
  • Track recurring job issues and recommend process, scheduling, monitoring, or automation improvements to improve reliability.
  • Support incident, problem, and change management processes related to batch operations and production support.

 

What You Bring to the Role (Job Qualifications / Education / Skills / Requirements / Capabilities)

  • Experience monitoring and supporting batch processing, job scheduling, workload automation, or IT production operations.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise scheduling tools with Control-M preferred.
  • Ability to analyze job logs, error messages, job dependencies, file transfers, database activity, and upstream/downstream process impacts.
  • Familiarity with Windows, Linux/Unix, databases, scripting, integrations, and enterprise application environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and escalation management skills.
  • Ability to work independently under time-sensitive production conditions while following established procedures and controls.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements / Travel Requirements

  • Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: Remote work environment using standard computer equipment during US hours. Will require participation in after-hours support, weekend coverage, holiday processing, on-call rotation, etc. to support critical business processing windows.
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal travel anticipated; occasional travel may be required for team meetings, training, or business support activities.
