Job Purpose
The Business Development Manager – Composite seeks new business opportunities and maintains existing major accounts in designated business segment of DIFM & C&I and achieves and exceeds set sales budgets within designated business for Valvoline lubricants and associated car care products.
How You Make an Impact (Job Accountabilities)

Seek out new business opportunities in the DIFM & C&I business segments. Achieve sales budget for Valvoline lubricants and associated car care products. Either personally or coactively ensure that the building of relationships with key accounts and major prospects occurs in the market segments. Ensure the branch wins new accounts and maintain relationships. Maintain existing customers and endeavour to increase Valvoline’s product ranges to businesses.

Drive extra-curricular promotional nights in branches. Improve product knowledge of all Valvoline associated products, including conducting training seminars for new and prospective C&I customers.

Territory analysis of accounts for gross profit, client use and follow ups on amortised accounts.

Ongoing development of sale personnel’s selling skills, product knowledge, customer service and teamwork for Territory Managers and CSV drivers.

Manage pricing policy and profitability.

Review, analyse, discuss and submit monthly reports.

Develop knowledge of competitors pricing, products, and strategies.

Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.
Primary Interactions - Internal and External
-
Work closely and effectively with department heads in the National Office, and with State Managers, Sales Manager and Territory Managers in branch offices to maximise efficiency

Work closely with the Senior Product Manager – DIFM & Product Manager – C&I for the design and implementation of C&I & DIFM marketing platforms, promotions, and new product launches.

Liaise with supply chain on product forecasting and trends with the view to seamless product supply to designated market segments
What You Bring to the Role (Job Qualifications / Education / Skills / Requirements / Capabilities)

Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, such as business or marketing would be highly regarded

5+ years of experience in a sales environment with strong sales hunting skillset

Experience in an industrial or automotive industry is desirable
