Job Purpose
The Technical Coordinator will manage and coordinate the laboratory sample EH&S review process while overseeing the storage and maintenance of all product SDS documentation within the Global Science and Technology laboratory. This role is responsible for documenting EH&S activities, processing laboratory sample requests, and coordinating the preparation of international and domestic shipping documentation to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
How You Make an Impact
- Coordinate with technical staff to process laboratory sample and billable requests, ensuring accurate part and substance numbers are identified and the appropriate EH&S review forms are completed and routed for approval. Maintain organized records of approved sample numbers and shipping locations.
- Manage domestic and international lab sample shipments by executing transactions in SAP, generating packing lists, bills of lading, SDS, and SAP-approved labels, and collaborating with technical shipping staff to ensure proper documentation accompanies all outgoing samples.
- Plan and coordinate key technical organization events, including Valvoline 101 seminars, quarterly safety meetings, monthly R&D luncheons, annual global R&D meetings, and lab tours, demonstrating strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Support EH&S activities by maintaining SDS documentation in Velocity EHS, assigning VLearn safety training to technical staff and new hires, and recording laboratory incidents in GQMS.
What You Bring to the Role
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent business experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 1 year of related work experience in warehouse or plant shipping processes.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Highly organized with strong problem-solving and time management skills.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems (preferred).
