Valvoline Global Operations Headquarters is located in Lexington, KY. We prefer local candidates willing to work an in-office work schedule (3 days per week).
The Senior Financial Analyst, Supply Chain & Commercial Finance, serves as a key finance business partner supporting global supply chain, commercial, and transformation initiatives. This role provides financial leadership through forecasting, reporting, business case development, and strategic analysis to support operational performance and enterprise decision-making.
The Senior Financial Analyst – Supply Chain & Commercial Finance is responsible for supporting financial analysis, planning, and decision-making across commercial and supply chain initiatives globally. This role partners closely with supply chain leadership, including the Chief Operating Officer, and other senior leadership to evaluate business performance, provide financial insights, and support key initiatives.
The position owns core processes, including expense forecasting and annual planning, while also supporting advanced financial modeling and business case development. In addition, the role is responsible for the financial component of VGO’s project escalation processes, providing analysis and insight to senior leadership. This role requires strong analytical capability, business acumen, and the ability to work effectively across functions.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Expense Forecasting, Analysis & Planning
- Responsible for owning and delivering the monthly expense forecasting process in direct partnership with functional leadership (including COO’s team)
- Perform variance analysis comparing actual results and forecasts to Plan, Prior Year, and Prior Forecast across monthly, quarterly, and annual periods
- Identify key drivers of performance and communicate findings to support decision-making
- Responsible for supporting and delivering the annual expense planning process with detailed analysis and alignment to business objectives
Supply Chain Financial Reporting & Support
- Responsible for monthly supply chain financial reporting, including analysis of cost drivers and performance trends
- Partner with supply chain leadership to provide financial visibility and support cost management initiatives
- Develop and maintain reporting tools to improve transparency and consistency
Business Case Development & Financial Modeling
- Responsible for developing and supporting complex business cases related to commercial proposals and supply chain initiatives
- Build and maintain financial models using appropriate valuation and analytical techniques (e.g., NPV, IRR, scenario analysis)
- Partner with stakeholders to validate assumptions and ensure accuracy of financial analysis
- Support presentation and defense of business cases to senior leadership
Project Escalation & Leadership Support
- Responsible for the financial analysis supporting the project escalation process for high-priority initiatives
- Provide timely and accurate insights to senior leadership to support evaluation of risks and opportunities
- Support financial reviews and discussions with leadership as part of regular business cadence
Business Partnership & Process Improvement
- Partner with Commercial, Supply Chain, and Transformation teams to support financial analysis and business initiatives
- Translate financial and operational data into clear insights for stakeholders
- Identify and support improvements in reporting, forecasting, and analytical processes
- Develop and maintain standard models, templates, and tools to enhance consistency and efficiency
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required
- Typically 4–7+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or related analytical roles
- Experience with financial forecasting, planning, and variance analysis
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
- Experience supporting commercial and/or supply chain activities preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial systems and reporting tools preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate across functions
- Strong business acumen and attention to detail
- Occasional travel (up to approximately 10–15%)
