How You'll Make An Impact
As a Procurement Analyst, you will be responsible for logistics spend along with supporting a range of procurement and logistics initiatives, reporting directly to the Procurement Manager. You will play a critical role in sourcing, qualifying, and managing carrier relationships in alignment with Valvoline's procurement strategy.
Your responsibilities will include strategic sourcing through market analysis, carrier segmentation, and performance-based research and analytics. In addition to carrier management, you will support base oil replenishment, freight payment processing, and procurement reporting, contributing to both operational efficiency and cost optimization across the supply chain.
Valvoline Global Operations Headquarters is located in Lexington, KY. Candidates must be willing to work an in-office work schedule (3 days per week).
Responsibilities Include
- Develop sourcing strategies for each key mode of transportation to include:
- Assessment of key business needs/fully understanding the external environment
- Generate, analyze and execute RFQ's
- Performing industry analysis, supplier analysis and competitive analysis
- Developing market
- Ensure vendors are appropriately chosen, managed and monitored to mitigate risk associated with supply interruption, environmental liability, cyber and legal liability. Manage supply plan and resolve supply issues. Support EH&S and Sustainability objectives.
- Provide information, analysis and support to the sales and marketing teams for segment business analysis.
- Develop and execute a sourcing strategy and negotiate commercial terms to deliver optimal cost and support Valvoline's financial and operational objectives.
- Audit and approve freight invoices.
What You'll Need
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- Two years of Logistics Buying experience required
- Proficiency in Excel
- SAP knowledge is a plus
- Sourcing, contract negotiation and carrier management
- Understanding of freight procurement processes and logistics operations
- Experience with TMS and procurement platforms
- Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple projects and approval workflows
- Problem-solving and decision-making under time or cost restraints
- Results-oriented with a focus on service and cost optimization
- Adaptability in fast paced, evolving logistics environment
- Ability to travel up to 10%
