Job Purpose

The Pricing Analyst II supports strategic pricing initiatives for both new and existing customer opportunities by providing analytical insights and data-driven recommendations. This role independently analyzes pricing performance, market trends, customer profitability, and competitive positioning to develop pricing recommendations that align with business objectives. The analyst serves as a trusted partner to Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product Strategy, and Operations by interpreting pricing data, addressing pricing inquiries, recommending process improvements, and ensuring pricing accuracy across systems.

 

How You Make an Impact 

  • Analyze customer pricing, financial, and market data to identify trends, providing actionable recommendations that align with business objectives
  • Interpret pricing reports and dashboards to identify patterns, explain business impacts, and communicate insights to leadership and business partners
  • Perform pricing root cause analysis to investigate pricing discrepancies, margin erosion, customer pricing issues, and system exceptions
  • Review pricing exceptions, discount requests, promotions, rebates, and marketing programs to ensure alignment with pricing strategy and business objectives
  • Support pricing approval workflows, including the setup of new customers and the maintenance of pricing data within systems
  • Maintain and audit customer pricing records, price lists, and pricing agreements to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Develop and maintain pricing models, reports, dashboards, and analytical tools that improve pricing visibility and decision-making
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product Management, and Operations to evaluate pricing strategies and support customer negotiations
  • Identify opportunities to improve pricing processes, reporting, automation, and system functionality while driving best practices across the organization
  • Contribute to special projects and ad hoc analyses to support business priorities

 

What You Bring to the Role

  • BS in Finance, Accounting, Management, or related field preferred
  • Preferred but not required, 2+ years of pricing and/or finance related experience, preferably in a distributed services organization
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and root causes; experience with financial or business modeling is a plus
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to clearly present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Understanding of pricing concepts, including discounts, rebates, promotions, pricing governance, and customer profitability
  • Ability to independently research business issues and develop practical, data-driven solutions
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to drive change and implement best practices to enhance operational performance
  • Familiarity with financial reporting
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience working with SalesForce, CPQ, PriceFX, or pricing software is preferred but not required
