How You’ll Make An Impact

The OD Manager is responsible for assessing current and future talent development requirements through partnering and consulting with business leads and HR teams, leading the design and maintenance of the talent development strategy and approach as part of the overall OD strategy, and leading the implementation of the architecture, structure, and processes to build talent development offering.  This role will manage global supplier relationships and lead development planning processes in collaboration with HRBPs.

 

In The Role, You Would Be Responsible For:

  • Leads the design and delivery of a talent development portfolio to develop our top talent in readiness for future business opportunities at Valvoline or Aramco:
    • Collaborates with OD and HR team to prioritize, target, design, and deliver the Talent Development Curriculum and lead the strategic project portfolio.
    • Identifies and structures learning needs, working with business stakeholders, identifying, and analyzing relevant business performance and employee data (qualitative and quantitative).
    • Develops and evaluates the business case, including both design and delivery options.
    • Designs a blended approach to program content in collaboration with internal Subject Matter Experts and external partners.
    • Connects learning objectives back to business objectives and goals.
    • Manages personal development plans for top talent with HRBPs, helping to identify development solutions and opportunities that are bespoke to the individual
    • Leads the creation of communication and marketing plans for talent development at Valvoline and ensures it is widely understood and in line with the wider OD offering, including participants and leaders
    • Manages partner/supplier relationships for accountability and delivery of programs/products as specified and agreed. Hold regular meetings and own the relationship/project management for Valvoline.
    • Defines an approach for return on investment for each program, generates reporting and metrics on the uplift in business performance and return on outcomes agreed with key stakeholders; proactively adapts content or delivery to deliver the highest impact at the most appropriate effort, time commitment, and cost.
  • Leads projects where necessary and has a project management mindset.  (For example: Cultural Awareness, talent assessment strategy.)
    • Project manage the end-to-end plans for design, production, communication, and delivery of new learning experiences, escalating when timelines or quality are at risk, working through definition, discovery, design, development, deployment, and iterate stages in collaboration with key stakeholders
    • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business and within HR to create project teams that reflect organizational requirements. 
  • Owns the Forward Development approach – Ensures everyone at Valvoline Global Operations has the tools, mindset, and capability to manage their performance.
  • Strategy: Works in close collaboration with the Director of Talent Management, to own the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of the talent development strategy, aligning it to the HR and OD strategy and the global business strategy – with the aim of creating a talent development approach that ensures Valvoline has the skills it needs to deliver for today and tomorrow.
  • Leads and manages all Executive Coaching needs including requests with vendors, selecting a coach, setting up SOW, invoicing, and payments. 
  • This role will work cross-functionally with the Talent and OD team, Managers and leaders in the business, Global HR teams and HRBPs, and external partners.

 

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, or a related field required; Masters degree preferred
  • Strong experience in Learning & Development roles (ideally digital and blended learning experience, at BP level or similar)
  • Minimum of 5 years of learning and development experience with a minimum 2 years experience as an L&D manager level
  • Experience working with global teams within a global organization, internationally minded considerate of the international remit of the role in implementing leadership development initiatives 
  • A proven track record of designing and delivering talent development interventions 
  • Fluent in English
