The Global Trade Logistics Analyst I coordinates shipments of export orders through active engagement with Logistics, Planning, Plants, Warehouses, Transportation Partners (Freight Forwarders, Carriers, and Steamship Lines), and Third-Party Vendors.
This is performed by analyzing export orders, including building purchase orders into containers, according to weight limitations, product availability, and customers' needs; working with pricing, master data, product regulatory and trade compliance and credit to complete orders while assuring compliance of export shipments.
Responsibilities Include:
- Manage shipments that are compliant with international shipping standards. Work with global trade compliance and product regulatory department to ensure that products are appropriate / compliant and meet DEA compliant reporting as needed. Identify dangerous goods orders and prepare the IMO document for shipping internationally. Proactively working with global trade compliance to find solutions to eliminate potential risk that endanger internal and external stakeholders’ ability to conduct international trade.
- Coordinate the logistics of the shipment. Build containers according to weight and volume regulations. Align with the plant / warehouse to coordinate the best loading date based on product availability, warehouse schedule, ocean vessel sailing schedules and port cut off dates per the international freight booking details. Work with supply chain planning on product availability to make sure we are shipping 100% volume complete on time. Communicate the booking to the shipping warehouse, enter booking information in SAP and maintain SAP with the correct shipping information as international shipping dates continuously change.
- Prepare all needed documents and manage sensitive documents so the Electronic Export Information can be filled with the United States Customs Border Patrol. Communicate to the importer all necessary documents as required to assist in their importation of the shipment. Documents can include international freight bill of lading, certificate of origin, free trade agreement, International Maritime Organization dangerous goods declaration, DEA certifications, and any other supporting documents.
- Work with freight forwarders on international freight bookings. Review the shipping document to ensure that the shipment departs on the appropriate date and trade routing to ensure global trade compliance.
- Issue invoices, credits, debits, returns, royalties, analyze the multi-modal international freight cost and accrue costs for internal accounting.
- Manage customer product and quality claims through sales force portal by working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED, Bachelors Degree Preferred

Prior Logistics, Customer Service and/or Supply Chain experience preferred.

SAP Knowledge preferred.
