Valvoline Global Operations Headquarters is located in Lexington, KY. We prefer local candidates willing to work an in-office work schedule (3 days per week).
How You’ll Make an Impact
We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Associate Trade Marketing Specialist to oversee promotion planning and execution within the DIY retail channel. This individual will play a central role in developing and activating consumer promotions that drive awareness, engagement, and sales at the shelf for one or more of our fastest-growing accounts.
Success in this role demands outstanding attention to detail, project management excellence, and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with operational discipline while bringing creative promotional ideas to life with precision.
Responsibilities Include
• Develop and execute trade marketing plans tailored to DIY brick-and-mortar accounts, including promotional calendars, merchandising strategies, and in-store activations.
• Lead cross-functional project management for campaign execution, ensuring alignment on timelines, budgets, and deliverables across sales, category, and other internal partners.
• Partner with external marketing, promotions, and retail activation agencies to deploy high-impact programs at the store level.
• Ensure campaign execution excellence through structured planning, tracking, and timeline management.
• Translate national brand campaigns into retail-specific promotional strategies aligned with customer and shopper needs.
• Monitor budget allocations and optimize marketing spend to improve ROI and efficiency.
• Analyze promotion performance and shopper engagement metrics to continuously improve effectiveness.
• Lead development of Valvoline’s execution at retailer national trade shows.
What You’ll Need
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
• 2+ years of marketing, shopper marketing, or CPG retail marketing experience
• Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail; able to manage competing priorities with precision
• Analytical skills to interpret sales data and translate insights into actionable marketing strategies
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
What Will Set You A Part
• Experience in the automotive aftermarket, DIY retail, or related specialty retail industries.
• Familiarity with syndicated data platforms (e.g., Nielsen, Circana) or planogram/shopper insight tools.
• Background working with both internal cross-functional teams and third-party marketing partners.
