The IT Project Manager is responsible for the planning, implementation, execution, and delivery of major technology projects.  The integration Project Manager also oversees the integration of various systems and applications in relationship to our major SAP S4 initiative.  This role will take ownership for meeting project objectives to include scope, time, quality and budget targets.  Responsibilities include client management, resource planning, requirements gathering, developing/maintaining project plans through all phases of project.  A successful candidate will have the ability to coordinate tasks with business and It technical teams (able to speak to the audience - leadership, business stakeholders and analysts, technical IT resources (developers, infrastructure, network etc)

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Under limited supervision, plans, implements and executes/oversees small to medium sized projects on time within budget and within scope. Responsibilities include defining and analyzing requirements; developing/maintaining project plans and documentation; managing project budget, capital and expenses; managing quality through acceptance testing; and leading post project evaluation sessions.
  • Works with client and project stakeholders; analyzes project risks/problem and works with leadership to identify solutions.
  • Works closely with project team members and third-party resources to ensure all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.
  • Support high-level planning and scheduling for approved and highly likely road map projects.
  • Develop and implement programs and project management methodology that is flexible, appropriately manages risk and leads to successful implementation of projects.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.
  • Internal Contacts – daily interaction with other IT groups; daily interaction with business partners
  • External Contacts – frequent interaction with vendors, customers and other 3rd party partners

 

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related scientific/technical discipline is required with 5 years of professional experience. (8 years of additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.)

Experience Required:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in project management within a technical or engineering environment, with a strong focus on systems integration and managing parallel workstreams.
  • Strong technical background, with the ability to quickly understand and communicate complex technical concepts and challenges.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with project management software and tools (e.g., JIRA, Asana, Trello).
  • PMP, Agile, Scrum, or similar project management certification is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a keen attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of requirements management processes, procedures, and resources to include understanding of related test processes, test procedures, and test infrastructures.

  • Proficiency working with multiple IT functional segments (applications, integrations, infrastructure & operations, security, etc.) to document requirement for IT implementations.
  • Strong project management skills with a prior successful record of delivering large programs/projects.

    • Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and can present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Work on multiple/disparate projects at the same time and stay focused.
    • Work independently with minimal supervision.
