How You’ll Make an Impact

The IT Disaster Recovery (DR) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining disaster recovery strategies and business continuity plans to ensure the resilience of IT systems and infrastructure. This role requires strong leadership, risk assessment, and technical expertise to safeguard critical business operations in the event of an IT disruption or disaster.

 

Responsibilities Include

  • Develop, implement, and manage disaster recovery plans, policies, and procedures to ensure IT resilience. Maintain documentation of DR strategies, procedures, and test results.    
  • Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify vulnerabilities and critical business function    
  • Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement backup, recovery, and failover solutions    
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards such as ISO 22301, NIST, and other relevant frameworks    
  • Lead and coordinate response efforts during IT disruptions or disaster events, ensuring minimal impact on business operations    
  • Develop training programs and conduct disaster recovery drills for IT personnel and key stakeholders    

 

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT disaster recovery, business continuity, or IT risk management in a supervisory or managerial capacity
  • Experience in cloud-based disaster recovery solutions is a plus.

 

What Will Set You Apart

Licenses and Certifications (professional and/or technical)

One or more of the following:

  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
  • Disaster Recovery Certified Specialist (DRCS)
  • ISO22301 Business Continuity Management Lead Implementer


Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of best practices related to disaster recovery.
  • Familiar with Service-Now DRP features as well as CMDB, Service Mapping, Major Incident and risk management
  • Familiar with (SAFe) Agile

 

Soft Skills:
•    Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
•    Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
•    Ability to work under pressure and manage crisis situations effectively.
