Job Purpose

The Salesforce Commerce Cloud Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining solutions within Salesforce Commerce Cloud. This role focuses on building scalable, high-quality, and performant digital commerce experiences while integrating with enterprise systems such as MuleSoft and SAP. The individual will work collaboratively with Product Owners, Architects, Business Analysts, and Developers to deliver innovative and customer-centric eCommerce solutions that support Valvoline Global Operations’ digital transformation goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong full-stack Salesforce development experience and a solid understanding of integration patterns within multi-cloud and connected system landscapes.

 

How You Make an Impact (Job Accountabilities)

Commerce Cloud Development: Design and develop scalable, reusable, and performant Salesforce Commerce Cloud (B2B/B2C) components, templates, and services.

Salesforce Full Stack Development: Develop robust front-end (LWC, Aura) and back-end (Apex, SOQL, APIs) components. Deliver maintainable, performant, and reusable code aligned with Salesforce platform best practices.

Experience Cloud (Portal) Development: Build and optimize Salesforce Experience Cloud portals that deliver seamless partner and customer experiences. Collaborate with UX teams on responsive design and accessibility.

Integration and Data Management: Build and maintain integrations between Commerce Cloud, MuleSoft, SAP, and other Salesforce Clouds (Sales, Service, Marketing). Design and implement REST/SOAP integrations between Salesforce and enterprise systems. Ensure seamless data integrity, synchronization, and governance compliance.

DevOps, CI/CD, and Code Governance: Lead version control and deployment pipelines using GitHub, and Gearset. Implement automated testing and continuous delivery best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Documentation: Partner with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Business Analysts, QA, and Admin teams to translate requirements into technical solutions. Maintain technical documentation, participate in Agile ceremonies, and support release planning and deployment reviews.

 

What You Bring to the Role (Job Qualifications / Education / Skills / Requirements / Capabilities)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  •  4–7 years of Salesforce development experience, with minimum 2 years hands-on experience on Salesforce Commerce Cloud (B2B or B2C).
  • Must have practical implementation experience with core Commerce Cloud capabilities, including: Product Catalog and Pricing Management, Order Management and Checkout flows, Global Tax and Currency configurations, Inventory and fulfillment integrations, Promotion, pricing, and entitlement rules.
  • Strong hands-on experience with MuleSoft integrations and API-based system connectivity.
  • Familiarity with other commerce platforms (e.g., SAP Hybris, Magento, Shopify) is advantageous.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and with CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Copado).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills in multi-system environments.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Salesforce Commerce Cloud Developer Certification (preferred).
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I (required).

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Solid understanding of Salesforce data structures, integration patterns, and API frameworks.
  • Ability to operate independently while supporting team goals.
  • Expert-level understanding of Apex, LWC, Aura, Visualforce, and API-based integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce data model, Governor Limits, and security model.
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD, Git branching strategies, and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with Mulesoft or other middleware integration tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Product Owners, Architects, and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working across global teams and complex multi-cloud Salesforce environments.
