Valvoline Global Operations Headquarters is located in Lexington, KY. We prefer local candidates willing to work an in-office work schedule (3 days per week).  

 

The Financial Analyst II within FP&A plays a critical role in supporting Valvoline Global Operations’ enterprise planning, forecasting, and performance management processes. This position partners closely with Corporate FP&A leadership and senior cross-functional stakeholders to deliver advanced financial analysis, consolidated reporting, and actionable insights that guide executive decision-making and long-term value creation.

This role has broader responsibility and autonomy than Analyst I level, including ownership of key components of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Long-Range Plan (LRP), and monthly Latest Estimate (LE) processes. The position contributes to enterprise-level consolidation, executive reporting, capital analysis, and scenario modeling while helping drive process discipline, forecasting accuracy, and continuous improvement across the FP&A function.

 

Key Responsibilities Include

Enterprise Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead key components of the AOP, LRP, and rolling forecast processes in partnership with functional and regional finance teams.
  • Own and maintain complex financial models supporting revenue, expense, cash flow, and profitability forecasting.
  • Consolidate inputs across business units and functions to produce accurate enterprise-level forecasts.
  • Evaluate forecast assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations to FP&A leadership.
  • Drive forecast accuracy through structured variance analysis and performance tracking.

Financial Reporting & Executive Insights

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly consolidated reporting packages for senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Deliver clear, data-driven variance analysis versus plan, forecast, and prior year; identify performance drivers and emerging trends.
  • Support preparation of materials for executive reviews, Board-level discussions, and earnings-related deliverables as applicable.
  • Monitor key financial and operational KPIs to assess execution against strategic objectives.

Performance Management & Business Partnership

  • Partner with functional leaders (e.g., SG&A, Operations, Commercial, Corporate Functions) to support financial transparency and cost discipline.
  • Analyze headcount, operating expenses, and investment spending to ensure alignment with approved budgets and strategic priorities.
  • Provide scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to support decision-making around resource allocation and trade-offs.
  • Act as a trusted finance partner by translating complex financial data into actionable business insights.

Capital Planning & Investment Analysis

  • Support enterprise capital planning processes, including financial modeling and return analysis (NPV, IRR, payback).
  • Track capital spend versus approved budgets and forecasts; identify risks to delivery or return assumptions.
  • Contribute to capital allocation recommendations aligned with enterprise growth and productivity objectives.

Process Improvement & Financial Systems

  • Drive enhancements to FP&A processes, tools, templates, and reporting automation.
  • Improve data integrity and reporting efficiency through effective use of financial systems and analytics platforms.
  • Support system initiatives and reporting transformations (e.g., ERP, consolidation tools, dashboarding platforms).
  • Promote best practices in planning governance, documentation, and internal controls.

 

Ad Hoc & Strategic Analysis

  • Lead ad hoc financial analyses supporting executive decision-making, strategic initiatives, and enterprise projects.
  • Develop scenario and sensitivity models tied to macroeconomic factors, cost pressures, or growth initiatives.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects that enhance financial visibility, margin performance, and cash generation.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field required
  • 4–6+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related analytical roles
  • Experience supporting enterprise-level planning and forecasting processes
  • Experience with financial consolidations and executive reporting preferred
  • Exposure to multi-site, manufacturing, consumer products, or global operations environments preferred
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical capabilities
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow, and performance metrics
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; PowerPoint proficiency required
  • Ability to synthesize large data sets into concise, decision-ready insights
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills
  • High degree of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
  • Self-directed, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with ERP and planning tools (e.g., SAP, BPC, S4, Power BI, or similar platforms) preferred
