Job Overview

Lead and manage the Quality Control for all incoming raw materials and all lubricants produced internally in Dordrecht and externally at third party blenders and fillers. Register all samples and test in VLIMS.

Perform blend corrections as short term and long term reaction to FTP.

Make laboratory blends and perform the necessary testing on development products and samples coming from different sales area’s or the Technical Service teams

Support customer service in case of need to create required documentation (CoA)

Together with the Senior Lab Technician make sure the Dordrecht blending plant is supported in day-to-day activities as well as Flush Oil management, SMOG and potential production issues.

Perform additional task in the sections like IATF, House keeping, Quality Management, Asset Management

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Quality control for all incoming raw materials and all lubricants produced internally in Dordrecht and externally at third party blenders and fillers including registration in LIMS and communication with the right departments

  • Performing blend corrections – immediate actions in case of OOS and long term actions in case of raw material fluctuations. Updating SAP in the PPS role

  • Performing the PPS role for Dordrecht blending location in case of new product introductions

  • Creating and testing the R&D related samples either for the development of new products, competitor products or request coming from sales/technical Service

  • Support the Senior Lab Technician make sure the Dordrecht blending plant is supported in day-to-day activities as well as Flush Oil management, SMOG and potential production issues

  • Performing additional tasks like 5S, Housekeeping, Chemical management, Waste management, Inventory Management etc.

  • Supporting customer Service in case of need to create the required documentation like CoA

  • Supporting to maintain the ISO and IATF certificates for the Dordrecht laboratory

 

Responsible Care® 14001 (RC14001®) and Other Environmental, Health, and Safety Considerations

 

  • Knowledge of the standard laboratory safety requirements

    Living according the Valvoline standards

 

Work Experience

 

  • Employee will have experience with laboratory work, quality control, either through a previous position or through working experience in a different technical role. Base knowledge of lubricant development, oil specifications and qualification procedures is advantageous. Experience with analytical test methods and laboratory methods is mandatory.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

 

  • Familiarity with Lubricant Formulation Science and Chemistry

  • Base knowledge of oil specifications

  • Knowledge laboratory performance testing

  • Knowledge of Quality control

  • Computer Skills - specifically Excel, Power Point and some familiarity with SAP & quality systems (e.g. vLIMS)

  • Statistical methods and design of experiments
