Job Purpose
The HR Generalist is responsible for providing end-to-end HR support for the Dordrecht and Klundert facilities, with a primary focus on the blue-collar workforce. The role leads the recruitment and onboarding of hourly employees, partners with supervisors on employee relations, performance and absence management, and ensures HR processes are delivered in line with Dutch employment legislation and company policies. The HR Generalist also plays a key role in developing local HR initiatives that support employee engagement, operational effectiveness and compliance.
Recruitment
- Lead the end-to-end recruitment process for blue-collar positions, including production, warehouse, maintenance and laboratory roles.
- Develop and maintain an effective recruitment framework for contractors.
- Conduct intake meetings, interviews and candidate assessments
- Build and maintain talent pipelines through proactive sourcing
- Establish and manage partnerships with local schools, municipalities, recruitment agencies and local employment initiatives
- Coordinate participation in recruitment events and job fairs
- Balance direct hiring with agency workforce requirements in partnership with Operations
- Monitor recruitment metrics and identify opportunities to improve hiring effectiveness.
Onboarding Process
- Develop and manage the onboarding program for blue-collar employees
- Prepare employment contracts for blue-collar workers and complete HRIS/payroll administration
- Coordinate onboarding activities with managers
- Support probation reviews and contract extensions/conversions
- Ensure all new hires complete mandatory compliance and safety requirements.
Offboarding Process
- Develop and manage the offboarding process for blue-collar employees.
- Prepare termination documentation and HR system updates
- Conduct exit interviews and analyse trends.
- Recommend and implement retention improvements based on exit feedback.
HR Generalist Responsibilities - Provide first-line HR support and guidance to blue-collar supervisors and employees.
- Advise managers on Dutch employment legislation, company policies and HR best practice.
- Manage sickness absence cases in accordance with the Wet Verbetering Poortwachter.
- Liaise with the Occupational Health/ Company Doctor, case managers and external providers.
- Monitor sickness absence and identify trends.
- Facilitate frequent absenteeism meetings with employees and managers.
- Coach managers through performance management, disciplinary and capability processes.
- Support contract renewal and conversion decisions.
- Deliver HR training to supervisors and managers on topics including performance management, absence management, feedback and employee relations.
- Deliver leadership development sessions in Dutch for frontline supervisors.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and local HR projects.
- Maintain accurate employee records within SuccessFactors and HR systems.
- Produce HR reports and metrics to support business decisions.
- Ensure compliance with Dutch labour legislation, company policies and internal audits.
Qualifications
- HBO degree in Human Resources or related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a HR Generalist, HR Advisor or similar role.
- Experience recruiting blue-collar or operational employees preferred.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, logistics or production environments desirable.
- Strong understanding of Dutch employment law and the Wet Verbetering Poortwachter.
- Experience using SAP SuccessFactors preferred.
- Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken)

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements / Travel Requirements
- Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: Minimum of 4 days office based; 3 days in Dordrecht & 1 day in Klundert, 1 day flexible
- Travel Requirements: 0 – 10%
