Job Purpose

The Supply Chain Business Process Improvement Specialist is responsible for identifying, supporting, and leading initiatives that drive operational efficiency and process optimization across EMEA Supply Chain organization. Acting as a cross-functional change agent, the role ensures that process enhancements are aligned with Valvoline's business objectives and support long-term operational excellence.

 

Based in a matrixed, multicultural environment, this role works across regional and global teams to plan, execute, monitor, and report on business process improvement initiatives, ensuring visibility of key milestones, risks, and outcomes. The position also serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in supply chain processes and ERP systems for key projects and strategic initiatives, including RFQs and new product or solution developments.

 

How You Make an Impact (Job Accountabilities)

Managing Process Improvement Initiatives

  • Identify, support, and/or implement process improvement opportunities across the supply chain organization using data analysis, stakeholder input, and project management best practices.
  • Collaborate with functional departments to identify and resolve inefficiencies that hinder operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure all process improvements are aligned with business goals through close engagement with cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain process documentation, procedures, and work instructions to support process standardization and efficiency.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks associated with new or changed processes and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders regarding progress, risks, and benefits of improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with and manage external stakeholders during the execution and implementation of process initiatives.

 

Internal Consultancy and Strategic Project Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for supply chain-related process questions across Valvoline regions and internal functions.
  • Act as supply chain SME in global and regional RFQs, offering insights into SC processes and ERP system capabilities.
  • Contribute to new product and solution development by evaluating operational feasibility and alignment with supply chain strategy.

 

Cross-Functional and External Collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders in:
    • Regional and global supply chain (logistics, planning, production, order management, quality)
    • Commercial teams (sales and marketing)
    • Finance and procurement
    • Product Line Management and Technology functions
  • Support strategic customer interactions on an ad hoc basis, providing insights into process capabilities and readiness for new business.

 

What You Bring to the Role (Job Qualifications / Education / Skills / Requirements / Capabilities)

  • BSc or MSc in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business Administration.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain or operations management.
  • Strong experience working in multicultural, multi-regional or global organizations within a matrixed structure.
  • Proven track record of successful cross-functional collaboration and influencing at all organizational levels.
  • Deep understanding of supply chain processes and ERP (e.g., SAP) functionality.

 

Preferred Certifications / Methodologies:

  • Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)
  • Change Management (e.g., ADKAR)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent process improvement training

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements / Travel Requirements

  • Corporate office environment, based in regionally aligned location.
  • Standard office work with frequent use of computer systems and collaboration tools.
  • Some travel may be required (~10–15%) for workshops, site visits, or initiative launches, including global or regional locations.
  • Periodic interaction with major and strategic customers may be required, particularly for process alignment discussions or project scoping.
