The Production Assistant/Truck Scheduler supports the North American Operations Deer Park Texas Manufacturing site by effectively and efficiently coordinating bulk truck movements in and out of the plant. This individual contributor role is a key liaison between the Corporate Procurement Group and third-party trucking companies that supply our customers with on time and accurate deliveries.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Primary duties are scheduling the shipping and receiving bulk trucks, intermodal containers, and isotainers. Since the manufacturing facility operates on a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week schedule, this role requires the responsibility to taking calls after normal working hours to make schedule adjustments.
• This person will collaborate with customer service, trailer booking companies, checking governmental regulations, setting up logistics, and other related duties for order fulfillment. Also works with blenders, packaging technicians, Team Leads, Managers, and Supervisors for order fulfillment.
• Will have direct contact with OEM customers, International customers, and high-level industrial accounts.
• May be asked to create, verify, and reconcile inventory counts in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley guidelines.
• This role also creates deliveries from Hub plants to spoke plants. This role is the primary liaison for the export shipment process, and will back up the other Production Schedulers who order raw materials and components.   
• Develop and update monthly reports for tracking performance and review with facility personnel.
• Ability to build relationships with third party carriers, Lexington Procurement Team, and internal Blending Technicians.
• Backup duties will include monitoring the payroll software and assisting on payroll issues. Manage any accounts payable issues, receive in invoices, create purchase requisitions, and interface with accounts payable.
• The role will also act as a backup to the ICC/Administrative Assistant by answering phone calls and gate calls.  This will also require the ability to check visitors in and out, verify information given, direct visitors to where they need to go, provide directions, answer broad questions, and redirect phone calls as needed. Another key backup activity is assisting with conducting Contractor Safety training.
• Other duties and special project may be assigned as needed by management.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

What You’ll Need

• 2-year Associate’s degree or equivalent
• Previous truck schedule experience preferred
• SAP Experience
• Ability to take calls after normal working hours to make schedule adjustments
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Previous experience in manufacturing environment
• Proactively identifies improvements to processes, systems, and documentation.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
