This position oversees three plant processes: oversight of the lab technicians, overall plant quality, and interfacing with 3rd party suppliers.  Functions of the roles include supporting training, procurement of supplies, equipment maintenance, 3rd party scheduling, support recipe management and supporting supplier quality initiatives. 

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Review plant quality process and drive the continued improvement mindset
• Oversight of the ISO 9001 certification and related auditing of facility processes
• Drive lab safety and process compliance
• Initiative to drive trouble shooting and root cause analysis (RCS’s) for both internal and supplier issues
• Linking corrective actions to process development
• Helping build and maintain work instructions while improving process controls
• Learn plant processes and support auditing against control plans and work instructions
• Supporting lab tech training and development amongst peers
• Support improvement projects tied to the lab and supplier quality
• Manage lab supplies and consumables
• Coordination with suppliers on PM’s and repairs of lab equipment
• Have a proficient knowledge with lab equipment and processes
• Back up Recipe/Material Management in SAP and Blend system
• Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.

What You’ll Need

• 4-year degree focused in Biology or Chemistry. Will consider engineering
• Basic computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite 
• Experience in manufacturing environment 
• Experience in a lab setting 
• Experience working in LIM’s and SAP 
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. 
• Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50lbs, walk up and down stairs and move throughout the plant and office frequently
• Travel Requirements: Infrequent but some meetings and offsite support with other facilities or suppliers
