The Business Development Manager will grow Valvoline market share within the assigned region, increasing business development and portfolio penetration while ensuring national strategy execution through distributors. Strong business oriented with financial capabilities and market analysis, design and execution to increase brand penetration. This role will find, develop and strengthen business partnership with key customers and/or distributors while developing their capabilities and ensuring their alignment. 

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Meet sales and profits. Measure, trigger and deploy actions as needed, lead internal and external team towards the goal.
  • Channel management: Build a strong relationship with the distributor; develop and lead execution of business annual plan of the B2B segment; contracting; conduct business performance reviews; sell in/out data mining. Ensuring a strong sell out on the market.
  • Marketing local execution and leadership: Pricing intelligence; promotion planning; competitor benchmarking; activations, Valvoline marketing programs execution; Mkt Coop planning, implementation and control; mechanics activations and brand building activities.
  • Train and develop distributor sales reps and sales managers and also Fleet mechanics and leadership teams. Face to face with regional key accounts and mechanics.   
  • Prospect and get on board new customers where needed according to the market growth.
  • Lead and coordinate internal x-functional teams (supply, CS, mkt, technical, legal) to ensure a world-class customer experience and aligning resources and focus towards meeting our goals
  • Internal reporting, self-training and administrative tasks.
  • Internal Contacts – Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Technical, Finance
  • External Contacts – Customers, Distributors, Vendors

What You’ll Need

  • This role will be based out of Mexico City, Mexico. We are looking for candidates who currently reside in that market.
  • The ability to travel up to 70%

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related field.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in distributor sales within the automotive after-market industry.
  • Previous experience in a multinational company.
  • Automotive market and applications knowledge and experience required; lubricants experience preferred
