How You’ll Make an Impact

This position is responsible for demand and supply planning for Asia markets in close partnership with business, finance, and end to end supply chain teams. A key area of accountability is talent development and capabilities to deliver on the overall objectives for the Planning function and the business. The role reports into the regional supply chain leadership and will actively liaison with Supply chain Planning COE (Centre of Excellence) for S&OP best practices and developing long-term SCP vision.

 

Demand and Supply Planning Area

 

  • Ensure business continuity through effective management of contract manufacturing and raw material, packing and FG suppliers.
  • Ensuring consistently high service to our customers by proactively identifying and solving supply/demand mismatches.
  • Lead the S&OP strategy & processes, its maturity and effectiveness for all the products to meet desired service levels and inventory objectives.
  • Champion S&OP maturity and drive S&OP agenda to ensure latest demand, supply & capacity plans and financial /business plans are reconciled and in alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and engage with leadership to drive the 5 steps of the S&OP process through product review, demand review (volume & $), supply review, financial reconciliation & Executive review (MBR)
  • Develop scenario planning capabilities (Short term - 3 months & Long term-3 years horizon for demand & supply scenario’s) to maximize operating income for the organization & inventory & capex investment for future years using OMP platform capabilities.
  • Analyze contingencies and risks and propose solution to address the gap in line with business strategy and stocking policy.
  • Own Planning metrics (LIFR, Forecast accuracy- MAPE/BIAS & FVA, Inventory/DOH, SMOG, S&OP maturity measures etc.)
  • Periodically evaluate planning system parameters & settings (in SAP as well as OMP)
  • Lead the blueprint for the planning process improvement for S&OP, with the objective of moving towards autonomous planning, supported by sophisticated analytical capabilities.
  • Work closely with the Network Design specialist to build future supply chain network capabilities to meet evolving business growth objectives.
  • Champion the change management and communications initiatives required to integrate the planning process throughout the organization.

 

People Development & Others

  • Lead and coach the team: empower and develop to deliver accurate results and deliver on commitments.
  • Supports implementation of different tools, especially from the OMP area, and is included into all relevant projects.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.

 

What You’ll Need

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field is required
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant Supply Chain Planning experience including S&OP & S&OE processes in a Consumer-packaged goods or similarly complex sector with growing levels of responsibility and demonstrated people leadership.
  • Prior experience in leading regional S&OP for a complex organization is preferred.
  • APICS - CSCP / CPIM or IBF - CPF certifications preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of MRP and conceptual knowledge of ERP systems (SAP) and experience with Advanced Planning Systems (OMP/Kinaxis/APO)
  • A proven track record to lead and drive operational improvement using process excellence tools.
  • Strong business acumen with in-depth Planning experience and understanding of E2E supply chain principles.
  • Ability to work independently in a structured and determined way.
  • Ability to handle conflict and challenge status quo for improved process efficiencies.
  • Team leader-coach: ability to lead, encourage and grow diverse talent in a complex landscape in the execution, strategies, and realization of functional and business goals.
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity, build positive relationships considering diverse perspectives & styles and gain cross-functional support to deliver the strategy and objectives.
  • Excellent presentation skills
