Valvoline Global Operations Headquarters is located in Lexington, KY. We prefer local candidates willing to work an in-office work schedule (3 days per week). This position is also open to candidates working in a remote capacity.

 

 

How You’ll Make an Impact
This position will support the cost accounting function of all North American manufacturing & warehousing facilities. This role serves a key function in ensuring the accuracy of VGO material costs, COGS & inventory reporting, & absorption performance to ensure operational costs are fully accounted for in monthly P&L. 

 

 

Responsibilities Include
•    Monthly review of material cost movements
•    Monthly review of process/production order validity
•    Review of absorption performance monthly with analysis for fluctuations in absorption vs. expectation
•    Calculation of obsolete reserve & lower of cost/market reserve
•    Calculation of business interruption impact & associated plant profitability
•    Calculation of ABC costing rates to drive full absorption at all NA MFG facilities
•    Work with the larger business to provide insights into costing issues/questions 
•    Provide analysis on absorption impact from bids for new business
•    Understanding of vendor rebates & royalties, & accrual calculations/postings
•    Working knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, & applicable regulatory framework
•    Internal control performance & ownership
•    Continuous improvement mindset – eye toward process improvement as we navigate S4 transition

 

What You’ll Need

•    Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance 
•    1 - 3 years of Manufacturing accounting experience 
•    Strong analytical skills 
•    Strong technical skills, with an ability to manipulate data sets in Excel

•    SAP S/4 Experience
•    Cost accounting experience
•    Obsolete reserve (E&O) calculation
    
•    CPA preferred
