*Valvoline Global Operations Headquarters is located in Lexington, KY. We prefer candidates willing to work a hybrid in-office work schedule (3 days per week). We are open to candidates living in nearby markets (i.e. Cincinnati and Louisville), willing to visit weekly.

How You’ll Make an Impact

The General Ledger Process Lead Consultant is the primary project lead for working with the accounting and finance teams and the SAP project team in designing and deploying the most effective SAP solution for requirements set forth by the business user community as identified in global workshops and working sessions. The Process Lead will focus on the standard accounting functions of the global general ledger design and implementation using a fit-to-standard process approach. This role is critical to the implementation of the IT Strategy to minimize custom software applications and maximize the enterprise approach of SAP.

In the role, you would be responsible for:

  • Capture and translate business needs into business processes with an eye on fit-to-standard processes and maintaining a clean S4 core.
  • Participate/manage important project engagement teams regarding the design and implementation SAP Finance & Controlling functionality.
  • Improve our business processes in SAP S/4HANA and advising general accounting on best practices.
  • Provide consulting advice to business customers on Financial and Management Accounting processes in SAP.
  • Manage teams or projects as well as dive into the content while still being coached yourself to progress on your career path.
  • Provide training and ensure knowledge transfer to key users.

What You’ll Need

  • Minimum 5 years of SAP Financial and Controlling experience in one or several of below domains: Finance (FI): GL, New GL, AP, AR, AA; Controlling (CO): Cost & Profit Center Accounting, Product Costing, Profitability Analysis (CO-PA), Project Systems (PS): Financial Project Management; Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC): Planning, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Experience with SAP S/4 HANA required.
  • Advanced understanding and experience with Financial and Management Accounting processes.
  • Excellent communication skills to establish credibility with leadership and to build problem-solving partnerships with internal customers.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in project teams and take ownership and responsibility.
  • Ability to influence and/or coach others that do not directly report to the role
  • Ability to manage stress; be flexible, internal customer minded.
  • Ability to travel abroad when needed (20% approximately)
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills are required; ability to apply systems knowledge to troubleshoot and analyze new issues is critical.
  • Project experience; experience with documentation, participation in unit testing, integration testing, and cutover activities related to SAP Finance.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

What Will Set You Apart

  • SAP certification is a plus.

  • Experience with SAP Central Finance would be a plus.
