This is a remote preference that the individual sit in New York or Pennsylvania with the willingness to travel up to 80% of the time primarily between Albany, Philadelphia and Syracuse.
How You’ll Make an Impact
This business development role is focused on the effective execution of our value proposition by adding new business associated with our Core National Account and dealer platforms. This position will have extensive knowledge of the Automotive Service Center and Car Dealer channels and will execute a selling platform, marketing programs, and account specific promotions that deliver strategic growth for Valvoline. Collaboration with account management, training, and other business resources is critical to the success of this role as it relates to onboarding and delivering a tremendous customer experience. Success will be determined through the accelerated growth of new rooftops, delivering gross profit, and driving volume. In the role, you would be responsible for:
- Growing new rooftops, gross profit, and volume delivering VVV value prop. Must be able to effectively sell in family of brands, which includes lubricants, antifreeze, filters, chemicals and wiper blades.
- Working with Sales Leaders to develop templated contracts, proposals, quotes, and value strategy.
- Maximizing gross profit of new accounts – Work with account management team to drive mix and profitability: Create win/win for the customer and Valvoline – understand customer value creation, know customer business drivers, quantify the value of the deal.
- Using a CRM, follow our seller journey processes while utilizing all components of Salesforce.com to ensure proper communication and data capturing.
- Holding pipeline meetings with account management to ensure proper onboarding.
What You’ll Need
BA degree preferred or equivalent experience
Familiarity with “do it for me”(DIFM) automotive or heavy-duty market experience
Strong track record of business development and/or territory growth
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Teams, PowerPoint, Excel
Working knowledge of business analytic tools (SNAP, BW, BI Tools, or equivalent)
Working knowledge of Salesforce.com (or equivalent CRM)

- Completed VCert Classes: Light Duty Lubricants, Heavy Duty Lubricants, Valvoline Professional Series w/ Equipment Certifications, Facilitation Skills, Virtual Facilitation Skills (internal candidates)
- Completed Valvoline Sales Training: Consultative Selling & Consultative Negotiations (internal candidates)
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
