*Valvoline Global Operations Headquarters is located in Lexington, KY. We prefer local candidates willing to work a hybrid in-office work schedule (3 days per week).

How You’ll Make an Impact

This position is responsible for managing the operational trade marketing business process for Valvoline's DIY (Do-It-Yourself) group while leading various project management deliverables and oversight of strategic growth objectives. The Assistant Trade Marketing Manager is responsible for day to day trade spend and promotional marketing planning at the DIY accounts. This role will work closely with the Brand Manager to prioritize brand initiatives for the sales team and asks for individual accounts based on account dynamics while integrating input/programs from the brand equity team to ensure timing and strategy align with trade plans. The Assistant Trade Marketing Manager will also work with analytics team to clearly identify top performing promotions, develop trade plan recommendations, including pilots of new tactics when required, and partner with the sales team for implementation.

In the role, you would be responsible for:

  • Leading marketing communication and artwork planning by account, ensuring messaging is consistent with brand hierarchy
  • Managing DIY consumer promotions budget for maximum ROI
  • Developing ROI calculations and understanding of historical performance to maximize promotional effectiveness
  • Developing unique promotional ideation and implementation
  • Leading MAPS (Merchandising, Assortment, Pricing, Shelving) development during brand planning cycle and ensure objectives are achieved throughout the year.
  • Managing all retail execution with Sales Directors, ensuring that trade programs are implemented on time, on budget and adhere to all brand equity guidelines.
  • Maintaining detailed promotional calendar of all trade promotional activity at assigned accounts.

What You’ll Need

  • 4-year accredited university degree
  • 3+ years' experience in consumer marketing or related field
  • Ability to analyze data for insights and come to accurate conclusions with recommendations on what to do in the future to enhance performance.
  • Budgeting/planning experience, ability to track and manage a multi-million-dollar budget to drive maximum impact to sales with complete accuracy
  • Customer presentations/engagement -Build strategic sell stories that result in a win-win for the retailer and Valvoline
  • Detail orientated -Manage day to day details of multiple projects to ensure tasks are being completed on time, on budget and in the most efficient manner
  • Results Driven - Create a high sense of urgency amongst teams to achieve and exceed stated objectives
  • Ability to travel (up to 25%)
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
